I was reading a blog entry of my colleague (who have inspired me a lot to fix my blog again, hehe) when I bumped into a very makatang phrase 'Talulot na bagong hamog". I read further and determine that the phrase was used by a Batangueño.
And I couldn't agree more that we can not deny our roots. There will always be marks of where we came from imprinted on us, be it in actions, attitude and words.
I could still remember the old times when some people would look at me because of my Batangueño accent or worst, laugh because I used a word common only in Batangas.
I guess, I have adopted and changed now. My friends would sometimes ask me where my Barako accent is? It wasn't my intention to changed the way I speak. It just happen.
But I will never lose my native accent. Bring me in a crowd full of Batangueño and surely I could still blend in. Plus when ever I go home in Batangas it is very automatic for me to change from "ba" to "guh" (that's the maarte version of ga. haha)
And so I went online to search for photos related with Batangas and the Batangueños. And look what I found.
