The sweetest change...

We posted something on our wall... We wrote a note...We shared a link...We uploaded a photo and video... Then, in just a second... a notification popped out. Somebody liked and commented on whatever we posted.

So we've got a friend!Then suddenly, i begun asking myself...What is a friend? How would we know if a friend is really a friend?

Maybe, a friend is someone who keeps liking our statusses and posts no matter how nonsense it may seem. He/she could be someone who keeps tagging us photos and videos or Somebody who keeps sending us invites.

But then, i doubt all of these! Because with facebook,everything is easy. Everything is just a click away.

So i grabbed a dictionary. And the only meaning i found- Friend: (noun) a person one likes.
My reaction- wow! That's it?
So i'm constructing my own definition for the one word noun- friend.

a FRIEND is

*someone who listens in silence. They need no words to know how you feel. If you don't want to talk, they'll sit beside you in silence until you're ready to speak and open up.

*somebody who shares umbrella with you whether under the sun or pouring rain no matter how small the umbrella is. In simpler words, you can count on them in bad times and good times.

*a person who willingly divides and shares a piece of their favorite chocolate. They share their happiness and successes and allow others be part of it.

*a friend is the laughter during an embaracing moment. Instead of seriously messing up more, a friend would burst out laughing until you two are laughing together and you suddenly forget why you were laughing.

And for me the best definition is...

A FRIEND is the sweetest change of pronouns! A friend is when I becomes We, Me becomes Us, My becomes Our and Mine becomes Ours. A friend is a special person who takes a significant space in your heart. Someone who doesn't say "me first" because a friend says "it's better together".

No matter what the definition may be,the challenge for us is to find a proper noun that is for keeps.

Ngingiti na lamang...

When i was a kid, i thought happiness is the only reason for smiling. But as numbers kept adding up on my age, i discovered other reasons to smile.

*I smile when i am sad. I put a smile until i forget the reason why i am lonely. I smile until i forget that i should have cried. But then, it's ok to cry. Cry all you want until you feel better.

*I smile when i am frightened. I remember one time on a breath taking ride. I was so scared. My friend told me to scream but i can't. I don't know how cause every time i try, no voice would come out. So i found smiling an avenue to release fright.

*I smile when i am about to say something and yet can't speak it out.

*And i smile when i have nothing in mind and yet i was asked to say something.

*I smile whenever i see someone or something inspiring.

*I smile when i don't know what to do... pretending to be just fine.

So when you see me smiling and you think i'm just happy...Think again, for my reason could be different from what you think it is.
